Jiang'an

Jiangan District, affiliated to Wuhan, Hubei Province, is located on the north bank of the Yangtze River, northeast of Wuhan, adjacent to Huangpi District in the east, across the Yangtze River from Wuchang District and Hongshan District in the south, along Jianghan Road and Sanyinqiao Road in the west and Dongxi Lake District in the north. It is one of the seven central urban areas in Wuhan. It is the seat of the Wuhan Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Wuhan Municipal people's Government, the standing Committee of the Wuhan Municipal people's Congress and the Wuhan Municipal Committee of the Chinese people's political Consultative Conference. The Jiangan District, with a total area of 70.25 square kilometers, is the core component of Hankou. The Hankou concession, which is located along the Yangtze River, is the third largest concession area in China after Tianjin and Shanghai. Since the opening of the port in Hankou in 1861, 20 consulates have been set up here, such as Britain, Russia, France, the United States, Germany and Japan. Jiangan District is also the birthplace of the 27-7 strike, with many "red culture" sites and Hankou River Beach is the largest riverside park in Asia.
