Jiangbei New Area

Jiangbei New Area is the 13th state-level new areas, and the only one in Jiangsu Province. It covers the Pukou and Luhe Districts and the Baguazhou sub-district. The Nanjing New & High Technology Industry Development Zone, Nanjing Chemical Industry Park, Coastline Science Park, and Pukou and Luhe Economic Development Zones all sit within the area. The 788 km2 Jiangbei is also the home of 1.48 million people. The strategic plan of Jiangbei is to become an area leading in independent innovation, a demonstration area for the new type of urbanization, a cluster of modern industries in the Yangtze River Delta, and a major platform for opening up and cooperation in the Yangtze River Economic Belt. Jiangbei is also at the very core of the city’s plan to carry out the “One Belt One Road Initiative”.
