Shibei
Shibei District is one of the main urban areas of Qingdao. The West is adjacent to Jiaozhou Bay, the East is adjacent to Laoshan District, the North is bordered by Licang District, and the South is adjacent to Shinan district. The maximum distance is 11.5 kilometers from East to West, 9.9 kilometers from north to South, and the coastline is 17.83 kilometers long. The total area is 63.18 square kilometers. The permanent population is 1,018,200 and the registered population is 865,000. Shibei district is the birthplace of industry and commerce in Qingdao. As a relatively concentrated urban area in Qingdao, it has relatively abundant human resources and a vast consumer market, and the tertiary industry is more developed. There are several landmark attractions in the northern part of the city, such as: Haiyun Temple, Qingdao Beer Museum, Qingdao Textile Museum, Xindu, Central Business District, and Taidong Business District. Similar to Zhongshan Road, Taidong Business District, as one of the five major shopping districts in the island city, has become the most distinctive commercial pedestrian street in Qingdao. Xindu has also become the most modern business center in Qingdao. There are many attractive shopping centers-Maikaile, Kidd MALL and so on. At the same time, in 2015, the Central Business District has also built a complete and high-end business agglomeration center, where major office buildings such as the Zhuo Yue Century Center have been located. Shibei district has a good infrastructure and convenient road traffic. The Jiaozhou Bay Bridge, the Cross-Harbour Tunnel, Huanwan Avenue and the Jiaoning Expressway meet here. And the public transportation system is also very developed. Half of the city's 130 bus lines pass through this area. Shibei District is also the origin of trolley buses which is a major feature of modern Qingdao. At the same time, rail transit in Shibei district is also gradually improving. There are currently lines 2 and 3, and there will be more lines such as lines 1, 4 and 8 in the future.
