Wuhou

Wuhou District, with a population of around 1.2million and 13 sub-distrcits, is the largest and wealthiest of the five internal districts of Chengdu. It contains the historic Wuhou Temple, from which the district was named. The district was founded on the south side of the Jinjiang River in 1990 and is bordered by Qingyang District to the north, Shuangliu County and the Hi-tech New District to the south and west, and Jinjiang District to the east. Wuhou district is a cluster of high-end industries and is considered the influential economic development area of Chengdu. With leading modern business services, commerce and trade organizations, and information industries setting up their headquarters and bringing innovation the area has improved remarkably over recent rears. A number of famous entepreise have gathered within the district which has led to the development of a number of top office buildings – Raffles City, Ping’an Fortune Centre, Zhongyang Gardens – to name but a few. It also contains the areas of Yulin and Shuangnan which are considered to be the two areas of Chengdu with the highest living standards.
