Xiacheng

Xiacheng District is one of the key districts of downtown Hangzhou, it borders Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal in north and West Lake in south. The name of this district “Xia” comes from ancient times, as this district is located at the north of Southern Song Dynasty imperial city, Hangzhounese used to call north as “Xia”, there comes the name “Xiacheng”. There are several well-known landmarks in Xiacheng District, such as Wulin Square and West Lake Cultural Square. Wulin Square is one of the most popular shopping area in Hangzhou, with many renowned shopping malls - Hangzhou Tower, Wulin Intime, GDA Plaza etc. As one of the core central business district, Xiacheng District also gathered various high-quality office buildings.
