Xuanwu

Xuanwu District, named from the Xuanwu Lake, is one of the core districts in urban Nanjing, and has a population over 600,000. The Nanjing Municipal, the East Theater Command of PLA and many other government organs sit within the area. A cluster of commercial, IT and tourist companies set up their headquarters in the area. During the period of the 12th Five-Year Plan, a number of office high-rises, such as Deji Plaza and Golden Eagle Summit, were erected. In the Xuzhuang Software Park, IT giants including Suning and Tuniu continue to thrive. Xuanwu district is also known for its abundance in tourist attractions, such as the Purple Mountain, the Xuanwu Lake and the Nanjing Presidential Palace.
