Yuzhong

Yuzhong district is located on the peninsula carved by the Yangtze River and the Jialing River with a land size of 23.24 square kilometers and over 650,000 population. As the mother city of modern Chongqing, Yuzhong district is traditionally the political, financial and cultural centres of this “Mountainous City”. It embraces 162 financial organisations this are of municipal level, 10 foreign consulates as well as many cultural symbols, such as the Huguang Guild Hall, the Three Gorges Museum and the Guotai Arts Centre. In terms of public transportation, the four operating metro lines and several bridges crossing the Yangtze River and the Jialing River connect Yuzhong district with the northern and southern banks of Chongqing City, which forms a tridimensional urban transportation network. Jie Fang Bei and Hua Long Qiao, two of the most thriving business clusters in Yuzhong district, have been seeing a number of new prime office buildings and landmarks in past few years, such as the World Financial Centre, Ping’an International Financial Center and the Corporate Avenue commercial complex that are attracting corporations from financial industry, professional services providers, start-ups and hi-tech companies.
